About the Role

You'll build state-of-the-art technology that will redefine the $5 Trillion insurance market. And by joining our client now (as Engineer #5 or #6), you’ll make decisions that will shape the future of the company.

In this early stage, your chief responsibility will be writing code, working at all levels of the stack to deliver new features in our fast growing product. That said, your technical decisions will be laying the groundwork for future growth, and you will need to solve problems with scalability in mind. You’ll build systems from the ground up with durability in mind, and with a vision for how these systems will serve future use cases and product growth.

You will be instrumental in laying out the patterns of engineering best practice, and finding the balance between short term growth and long term technical health.

About You

You’re wildly good at Javascript (they’re all React and Node.js) and you love to learn. You’re excited to build and grow a company as the second engineer, and you have experience developing reliable, complex software. You’re highly productive but take your craft seriously.

You’re confident you can help them cross this inflection point of explosive growth and improve the quality of their codebase simultaneously. You have the humility to know that for the team to scale, you’ll need to recruit engineers who are even better than you or have the potential to be. Finally, you’re excited about their mission to solve the entire insurance process.
