Our client is building a new format for capturing and sharing our lives online. They believe screenshots are the digital photographs of our generation. Our client envisions a world where screenshots are the social springboard of the curated internet. They are building the first screenshot-native technology to unlock the power of these digital photographs. Our client’s technology allows anyone to access the source content behind screenshots, instantly retrieving shopping links, songs, videos and more.

About the Role

They’re looking to hire a founding product designer to lead UX, UI, and design. You will have autonomy to set the tone for the look and feel of their social app, work cross-functionally with their engineering and computer vision teams, and rapidly prototype (and ideate) new features.

Who You Are

  • Exceptionally talented at simple UX, rapid prototyping, and systems thinking with the ability to develop features and improvements quickly.
  • 3+ years of product design experience with a track record of scaling consumer-facing products/features. They are less focused on your years of experience and more on what you’ve accomplished. Ideally you’ve taken a consumer experience from 0 to 1 and design specifically with iPhones in mind.
  • Strong communication skills & team-first mentality - you can translate your ideas visually, through writing, and verbally—and thrive working closely with other team members (cross functionally and within your discipline).
  • Leadership & ability to execute independently - you can lead product development from end-to-end, working creatively to develop and own processes—and have the capacity to scale as a leader of larger teams over time.
  • Intellectual curiosity and empathy - you operate with a “life-long learner” mentality, an excitement to figure out the “how”, “what” and “why” of problems, and an innovator’s mindset.
  • Digitally native & product obsessed - you live and breathe online culture with a nuanced understanding of how young people interact online and strong opinions on how product affects behavior and culture. Bonus points if you’ve been online long enough to have been a Club Penguin aficionado or run a Taylor Swift Tumblr fan page.

They have a preference for candidates based in New York. However, they recognize that great talent comes from everywhere and would consider exceptional candidates from outside of our preferred geographies and offer relocation.

Base Salary Range: $150k -200k
