Tell us a little about yourself.
I am based out of Detroit and have been with Recruiting from Scratch (RFS) for about six months. My background is in film, and I used to produce documentaries! A couple years ago, I transitioned into tech and worked at a company named Thumbtack for a couple years. I like how quickly things move in the startup space and am excited by the way tech companies push the envelope of culture and society.
What does your day-to-day work look like?
I manage operations for RFS and have my hands in everything. I do my recruiting coordination work in the morning, where I make sure that candidates are getting through the pipeline, then I look through our ATS and meet with our recruiters. I also work on our internal hiring and tackle additional projects in HR, marketing and training.
What’s your favorite part about working on the RFS team?
It’s exciting to be part of such a young company where everyone has autonomy to set their own goals and reach them. A fully-remote team gave me the opportunity to work from Chile for a month (an amazing experience!) and the growth opportunity is unique here – I’m able to shape my role into what I want it to be.
Why do you enjoy working at a technology recruiting company?
I love working with people and learning about the work our clients are doing.. They wouldn’t be able to do it without great talent! So helping build their teams is exciting. It’s also rewarding to connect candidates to life-changing opportunities.
What’s been one of your favorite accomplishments so far?
One thing I’ve really enjoyed is scaling some of our operations. For example, we built a metrics dashboard and it’s been fun to see detailed reports come to life. That’s another thing that stands out about RFS that stands out about the company – we’re very data-driven, and that allows us to work smarter.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love traveling. I grew up in the mountains around Salt Lake City, so I enjoy camping and hiking. I also spent the past couple years teaching myself French and have started learning Italian. And watching movies of course!
